Video Poker - About Online Casino Video Poker Gaming

Video Poker is now widely available online and it is a game that is based on traditional five card draw poker. This game was available at land based gaming venues from the 70s onwards, but since the introduction of online casinos, this popular poker game managed to find its way into almost every online casino today. There are now approximately 30 individual variations of video poker for players to try out.

Knowing a little bit about poker would be handy, but not vital. The rules are simple and the average game takes just a few seconds. You are not competing against other players or the dealer, you just have to try and make the best poker hand possible. The better the hand, the larger your prize will be. You can play single hand video poker games or even take part in multi-hand video poker where you can be dealt up to 100 hands at once.

If you don’t know the poker wins, they are as follows: The best hand is a Royal Flush (A, K, Q, J, 10 of the same suit). A Straight Flush is any five cards in a row of the same suit (for example, 5,6,7,8,9 of clubs). Then you have Four of a Kind (for example four 7’s). The next lowest win is a Full House, (for example Q, Q, Q, 4, 4). Then there is a Flush (five of the same suit), a Straight (five consecutive cards in a row), Three of a Kind (8,8,8), Two Pair (K,K,5,5) and the lowest win is usually a pair of 10’s or more. The paytable will show you additional examples of these wins.

Players start the game by receiving a hand of five randomly drawn cards. Based on the winning hands above, you must choose which ones you would like to ‘Hold’ and the remaining cards will then be discarded. New cards will then appear to replace the ones you discarded. This will hopefully generate a better, more profitable hand. It’s really that simple. Any winnings that your hand has made will instantly be added to your balance and a new game can then begin.
