Blackjack - About Online Casino Blackjack Gaming

Blackjack is a very simple card game that is played against the dealer. You can either play one hand at a time, or up to as many as five hands per game (multi-hand blackjack). Each starting hand contains just two cards and you will notice that one of the dealer’s cards is face up. This can help you in your decision making. The object of this game is to reach a total of 21. If you go over 21, you will automatically lose.

To make it to 21 (or as close to this number as possible), you must simply add your cards together. Each number card is worth its face value, so a 2 is worth 2 points, a 3 is worth 3 points and so on. An Ace is actually worth 1 or 11 points and the Jacks, Queens and Kings are all worth 10 points. If for example you are initially dealt any 10 and an Ace, you will have the best hand possible, which is called a Natural Blackjack (11 + 10 = 21).

The dealer can end up taking your glory away from you if he happens to have similar cards that total 21. If this happens, the game simply ends in a push (tie) and you will receive your stake back so that another new game can start. If the dealer deals himself anything less, you will win. Most dealers today have to automatically stop when they have 17, so if you have 18, don’t feel as though you have to take another card to try and get closer to 21. This would be a crazy move.

After you have been dealt your first two cards, it will then be your decision to take one more card or stick with what you have. This move is called to ‘Hit’. If you are happy with the cards you have, all you have to do is select ‘Stand’ (where you don’t take any more cards). It will then be the dealers turn to do the same.

You will also notice certain other in-play options, such as being able to ‘double down’, ‘split’ or ‘take insurance’. If you have never played this game before, a good idea would be to launch it in the free play mode prior to playing in the real cash mode.
